New Wine Arrivals: Seven PortoVino Bottles We Chose Just for You.

Discover Our New PortoVino Wine Collection at The Barn Door

At The Barn Door, we’re passionate about bringing wines to our community that reflect authenticity, craftsmanship, and a true connection to the land. Our newest arrivals come from PortoVino, an importer dedicated to sourcing traditional and sometimes delightfully geeky wines from small European producers. PortoVino focuses on family wineries, primarily in Italy and France, who farm organically and work with minimal intervention in the cellar. Their philosophy is simple: allow the vineyard and the grower’s hard work to speak through the wine. From their most prestigious bottles to their everyday drinkers, every wine they import follows this same ethos.

A Focus on Farmers: The FUSO & Sfera Projects
Within the PortoVino portfolio, two special projects stand out — FUSO and Sfera wines. These private label collaborations highlight a single organic grower or small producer for each bottling, allowing PortoVino to offer exceptional wines at an accessible price. Think of these wines as a guided tour through Italy and France, each bottle representing a single place, a single grower, and a story worth sharing.

We’re proud to now offer several of these selections at The Barn Door.

Wines Now Available at The Barn Door

FUSO “Flora” Prosecco — Veneto, Italy $17.99
Bright, refreshing, and made in a dry Brut style, this Prosecco is crafted from the Glera
grape in one of the finest growing areas in Veneto. Expect lively notes of green apple,
ripe pear, and fresh-cut flowers. It’s crisp, celebratory, and incredibly easy to enjoy.

Le Vigne di Alice Rosato Brut Nature — Veneto, Italy $24.99
Produced by pioneering winemaker Cinzia in the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene hills, this
delicately pink sparkling wine is made in the driest possible style — Brut Nature. Tart
red berries, delicate florals, and mineral freshness create an elegant and refreshing
bubbly. Only about 700 cases are produced each year, making this a rare treat.

Frecciarossa 2024 Pinot Grigio — Lombardy, Italy $22.99
From a historic estate now run by fifth-generation winemaker Pietro Kent, this certified
organic Pinot Grigio comes from a small single vineyard. Picked early to maintain
brightness, it delivers a mouthwatering style with subtle complexity, clean fruit, and no
oak influence.

FUSO 2024 “Le Salse” Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi — Le Marche, Italy $18.99
Verdicchio is one of Italy’s most exciting white grapes, and this coastal expression
proves why. Fermented in stainless steel, it offers vibrant lemon, soft herbal notes, and
salty minerality reminiscent of Chablis but with a little more personality.

Sfera 2024 Rosso Sangiovese — Emilia-Romagna, Italy  $22.99
Italy’s most planted grape shines here with bright cherry, savory herbs, and striking
minerality. Grown at higher elevation on chalky soils, this certified organic wine is lean,
energetic, and incredibly food friendly. Perfect with classic red-sauce dishes — or lightly
chilled for a fresh twist.

FUSO 2022 “Tèh” Barbera — Piedmont, Italy $18.99
Made by two brothers at the Crottin winery beneath the Alps, this organic Barbera
shows the variety’s signature charm. Dark berries, black plum, and savory hints of
mushroom and earth make it a fantastic partner for pizza, pasta, and hearty comfort
foods.

FUSO 2024 “Cala” Rosso — Sicily, Italy  $18.99
Produced by the dynamic Dario Serrentino on his coastal Sicilian farm, this wine
highlights Nero d’Avola in a fresh and vibrant style. Early harvesting and no oak create
lively flavors of red and black berries with subtle hints of grilled meat and smoke. It’s
bold enough for the grill yet refreshing enough to enjoy slightly chilled.

A Wine Experience Rooted in Place
What ties all these wines together is their commitment to terroir, the idea that wine
should express the land and the people who farm it. These are small-production wines
made by growers who respect their soil, embrace organic practices, and allow nature to
guide their process.

At The Barn Door, we carefully tasted and selected these seven wines just for you.
Each one offers its own personality from crisp and refreshing whites to vibrant reds and
celebratory bubbles. Our goal was to bring a little variety to your table and help expand
your palate, making it even easier to find the perfect bottle for gatherings with friends and family. We hope you enjoy discovering them as much as we enjoyed selecting
them.
